Intergovermental Relations Committee
The purpose of the committee is to coordinate all federal, county and state programs with other standing committees and branches of the Navajo Nation government to provide effeciency of service.

Government Services Committee
The committee monitors the activities and departments of the Executive Branch of the Navajo Nation. The committee recommends the creation of colleges, or other entities; creates any division or department of the Executive Branch by adoption of its Plan of Operation.; and gives full confirmation of appointments to Boards, Commissions and Colleges.

Budget and Finance Committee
The committee coordinates, oversees and regulates the fiscal, financial, investment, contracting and audit functions of the Navajo Nation.

Transportation and Community Development Committee
The committee plans and coordinates policies relating to housing needs, local community land use plans, chapter government development, as well as road and transportation activities.

Health and Social Services Committee
The committee addresses the health and social service problems affecting the Navajo People by developing, monitoring and coordinating policies and proposals, laws, regulations and delivery of services to abate these problems, consistent with the traditional practice and custom of the Navajo People.

Human Services Committee
The committee coordinates, implements and enforces the Navajo Nation Labor and Veterans laws and policies as it relates to employment, training and veteran services programs.

Public Safety Committee
The committee legislative activities relating to administration, police, highway safety, fire and rescure, detention, criminal investigations, and emergency services within the Navajo Nation.

Resources Committee
The committee insures the optimum utilization of all resources of the Navajo Nation to protect the rights, interests and freedoms of the Navajo Nation regarding such resources. such authorities include acting as the Central Grazing Committee with the authority to review, monitor, mediate and resolve disputes ocncerning land boundaries, grazing rights, and fences within the Navajo Nation.

Economic Development Committee
The committee establishe, recommends, regulates, enforces and fosters policies pertaining to the development of the economy of the Navajo Nation. These include approving leases, permits and licenses for economic and business development for Navajo Nation businesses and other entities.

Standing Committees
Currently, there are twelve (12) standing committees of the Navajo Nation Council. they serve as the oversight authority for addressing needs, policy development and fiscal matters of the Navajo Nation. The following is a list of the committees and their general duties.
